Functions of a Computer

There are many basic functions of a Computer. The main functions of a Computer are:

1. Arrangement of Information: A Computer can arrange information in a particular order. Ordered information is useful and valuable for human beings. Such information simplifies our work. Life becomes easy.

Computers can order any list very fast. Different ordering methods are used by Computers. These methods are excellent examples of mindwork. Such mindwork shows that Computers can use human thinking in a big way.

2) Making Calculations: 

Simple and difficult calculations can be done with the help of a Computer. Besides arithmetic operations the Computer can make comparisons. Matching of different sets of numbers is simple. As for example, finding out the common number, or the odd number is a simple matter for Computer.  Also, it can make different combinations out of symbols.

3) Careful Examination of Information: A Computer makes careful examination of the work that it is given. As very close examination is made, chances of the Computer going wrong is out of question.

4) Giving Correct Answers: The answers given by a Computer are correct. Everybody in this world knows that such answers are meaningful. This kind of Computer response is welcome. When answers are to the point, they solve our problems very well. Such replies of Computers are given value.

5) Presentation of Reports: 

A Computer can generate good looking reports. Such reports can deal with any subject. Computer presented reports are very powerful. They catch our attention.
